DNA: Incredible Blueprint Machine!
DNA:
Incredible
Blueprint Machine!
Deoxyribonucleic acid-
just call it DNA,
forget the tongue
twisting
biological name;
that is man’s blueprint-
the powerful microchip
that hold all information
to
produce and replicate same
man.
A wonderful two-chain-
double helix store house,
upon it,
your growth is embedded,
inside it,
your development is coded,
within the strands,
your body parts are
hidden,
on its cords,
future body repairs
encrypted.
DNA-the wonder scientists-
are yet to fully unraveled;
but thanks to four
chemical
factories or bases,
three billion of them in
human body,
-Adenine-A
Guanine-G-
Cytosine-C-and
Thymine-T.
With pairing of A and T,
C and G
base pairs created
which is attached to
sugar molecule
and phosphate;
nucleotide is formed,
then stored in two long
strands of
double helix.
My body color is-
ask your DNA-why-
I’m a tall man,
query your DNA,
I’m an extrovert,
inquire from your
DNA.
I walk slowly,
I speak rapidly,
I’m aggressive,
I’m kind,
I love to dance,
just ask your DNA,
the reasons.
Body wonder-
hereditary store
house-
small in size,
but great in action,
unseen to naked eyes
inside,
but manifest to eyes
in public domain by
action.

A Special Breed!
A Special
Breed!
On her DNA,
Africans-male
and female are coded;
her ovaries carry eggs
that created
Afro-American, Afro-Asian,
Afro-European, Afro-Arab,
and her the womb had raised
Brazilian Mulatto and Black.
Her imprint is etched on
Caribbean islands of 700
islands, reefs, islets, and
cays.
Her skin-a great shield of
all times-
survived plantation
sweltering heat for
centuries,
endured criminal cold
of western hemisphere’s
winters,
and defied burning sun
of centuries of summers.
The good news is-
yesterday’s
harsh seasons-
hostile weather, and
inclement climate
help beautified her
skin,
made her
tough, irresistible and
conqueror;
with public and
private image
synonymous
with success and
undefeatable.
On her lips were
lyrics of life,
songs-sang on trans-
Atlantic trips,
on her vocal cord were
renditions sang on
plantations, and
on her mouth were dirges
recited in homes, churches,
and funerals about man’s
inhumanity to man.
Thank goodness-those-behind-
the-curtain-cries-and-tears
had transformed into
hymns-for-soul-healing,
today’s blues and ragtime-
forerunner of jazz.
Jazz for life,
blues-Afro-American
encompassing song-
reminiscence of
holler, work song,
dance tune, minstrel
and spiritual.
Rhythm and blues-
created-that gave
birth to soul, funk, and
disco.
