Home at Sea:

It floats on water,
it stays at sea,
it travels north
and south of great
oceans.

A mega city at sea,
call it a town-you're
right,
call it a community-
you're not far from
truth,
call it a metropolitan,
it qualifies to be one.

Everything a city has-
it possesses,
just a paradise at sea,
today's hanging garden
on ocean;
a multi-level story
behemoth,
in her are many
sports arena.

On her decks are shopping
malls comparable with
Manhattan, King of Prussia,
Aventura, Del Amo Center,
Destiny USA, and Houston
Galleria.

 

Her restaurants compete
favorably with any
seven-star's hotel-
flaunting-
multi-cuisine, cafes, bars of
assorted wines and liquor.

On her deck are Olympic-size
swimming pools, casino, golf
course, many indoor games.

Unlimited enjoyment on decks,
spa has no equal, fitness centers
second to none,
library-another-library of
congress at sea, and
its theater comes in
Broadway style.

Pleasure on board is limitless,
joy-it gives is boundless-
passengers on board-
to them peace belong.

Friendship ocean cruising
creates,
unity it promotes,
knowledge it makes new,
love it promotes,
goodwill it encourages.

Broken Bottle

Broken Bottle.

Bottle looks so fragile,

distrust among carriers,

manhandle by

depositaries,

unsafe depository,

bottle falls and

shatters.

 

Parts scatter to four

edges,

smithereens escape

through window.

Sewing mistress thinks

of stiches,

carpenter brings

hammer,

masoner comes with

trowel and

linear bearing guide.

 

Pandemonium

in public square,

confusion in the house of

barbarians,

Lilliputians are sentries,

giants deny entry into

agora,

sleep at city gate.

Public scramble for pieces,

neither can it hold wine

nor retain water.

 

Argument takes

place of repair in

city center,

holders of pieces

refuse let go for repairs.

 

City center turns

house of commotion,

theatrical spectacle

for neighbors,

joy to foes,

who wish confusion

continues for their gain.

birthplace of fugitive

and agrarian ideologies,

center point of rural-life

philosophy over city-

controlled-subservient

workers.

On the bank of Detroit River

my foundation is laid,

in the heart of Great Lakes,

I’m located,

thanks to Michigan in west,

kudos to Michigan/Huron in north,

gracias to Huron in east, and Erie

in southeast.

Home to Huron, Odawa,

Potawatomi, and Iroquois,

American natives;

call me Detroit no more,

but world auto capital city,

call me Detroit never again,

but city of great design,

I say-do not call me Detroit

anymore,

but-city of Techno Dance.

 

For three centuries-

joy and happiness-gifts to

America-

through thick and thin,

I have become a blessing

to people with common

mission,

in the rain and in sun,

America-I made warm,

America-I made habitable,

in good and bad weather,

America-I have pulled along,

America-I have taken to

Promised Land .

 

Thanks to all inventions

in you,

thanks to Henry Ford-

his 1896 first test driven

exercise lit auto light and

since never went out.

Kudos to William Durant’s

classic Chevrolet,

template that creates today’s

ingenuity;

Un grand merci to Dodge

brothers,

merci bien to Packard and

Walter Chrysler for today’s

miracle at Chrysler.

you gave to make

Americans joyful.

Three hundred and seventeen

years,

your influence has not waned,

even with your share of

foul-up,

you’re a luminary that

inspires;

a constant north star,

compass of all times

and a guide to navigators.

Detroit-your part in American

history is noble,

your role in making America

great is amazing,

Detroit-your impact in creating

America-is extraordinary.

Detroit-you have lived up

to your motor-
