but I feel his pains,

I’m not Igbo,

his complaints are

genuine,

I’m not Igbo,

his fears are justified,

I’m not Igbo,

listen to his cry.

I’m not Igbo,

treat Igbo man fairly,

I’m not Igbo,

he deserves not third

class citizen in father’s

house;

I’m not Igbo,

give Igbo man justice,

treat Igbo man with

fairness.

I’m not Igbo,

let Igbo dream lives,

I’m not Igbo,

let Igbo be part of

a new Nigeria.

 

I’m not Igbo,

visit father’s sins

not upon the children,

I’m not Igbo,

remember Igbo makes

the triangle north-west-east

possible.

I’m not Igbo,

let Igbo man and

woman live,

I’m not Igbo,

let Igbo sea ports function,

let Igbo airports fly and land

planes,

save Igbo from erosion and

mud sliding.

 

Let Igbo roads be

motor able,

let Onitsha be the door

to land of sunrise and

sunset,

let Nnewi industrial spirit

lives on.

Let Aba entrepreneurs’

spirit thrives,

let Owerri burgeon,

let Umuahia blossom,

let the coal city-Enugu-

flourish,

let Nsukka be Athens of

east,

let Abiriba boom.
