Depression!
Oh! Heaven save
my disturbed soul,
deliver my troubled
soul from hades,
lift burden off
my heart, and
heavy yoke from
head without
a carrier pad.
Depression makes me
empty,
life interest me no
more,
hope before me
seems hopeless.
Anxiety rules over
unsettled today,
disquietude makes
tomorrow uncertain.
Depression-
many are your strings,
deadly whenever pulled-
many are your
hurtful arrows,
arrow of sadness,
fusillade of anger
overactive missile,
burst of rage,
gall in place calmness.
Placidity lost,
withdrawal takes place
of vivaciousness;
guilty conscience replaces
clean and calm heart,
aches, pain, and insomnia
all day long in body’s temple.
Depression-no one is
immune from your
anger-
women-you turn to
workshop,
men-you harass every day,
children-you show no pity.
Depression! Depression!
Depression!
Distress me no more,
demoralize me no more,
dishearten me no more,
deject me no more,
dispirit me no more,
dismal me no more,
dingy, dark, dreary, and
drab-me no more.
Depression-
wanna be free from
making letter “D”
unfriendly.
More than 350 million people suffer from depression worldwide,
annually, United States records 3 million new cases of depression annually; in
fact, the number could be higher than projected, if one considers nations,
where data are not reliable or not available.
Regardless, depression-a depressive disorder that affects mind,
which in turn interferes with daily activities of working, sleeping, studying,
and eating-activities-man derives joy have become a global scourge.
Advancement in medicine has not offered permanent solution,
because causes of depression are multi-faceted.
As we empathize with people suffering from depression, so too,
we share the pains and aches of family members, caregivers, medical personnel,
therapists/wellness, psychologists, and social service workers.
We thank you for your service to HUMANITY.
