NEW YORK CITY,
NYC of the World.
On the bank of
Hudson River-
I sit-
New York is my name
since 1664,
a home to Algonquian and
Lenape-Native Americans.
Dutchmen-I know first-
Englishmen-I know after,
Dutch East and Dutch
West companies were
yesterday business ventures
that made me a home;
since then-I have become
business center and
commerce hob center to the world;
today-home to world two
largest stock exchanges-
NYSE and NASDAQ.
For centuries,
I have become capital
of all capitals,
for decades
capitol of all
capitols reside
in me at Turtle Bay;
for years-I have become
chief city of all cities,
Olympia of modern world.
A city of many cities-
in me are Brooklyn,
Queens, Manhattan, Bronx,
and Staten Island,
for centuries-even to this
day-most of immigrants
entered-land of freedom-
through the
"Golden Door.”
New York-
in me is Castle Garden-

within my gate is Ellis Island-
gateways to America,
and home to
Statue of Liberty.in me are Brooklyn,

From New Amsterdam to
