Plymouth-American Hometown-

We were 130 passengers

aboard Mayflower ship,

from Plymouth-

our birthplace-

we sailed to unknown

promising land.

With tears on eyes,

pain at heart,

we said goodbye to

our loved ones,

we would not see again,

just as we gazed into

Plymouth sky for the

last time.

Plymouth-England-

we left for religious

intolerance,

even a temporary stay

in Amsterdam and

Leiden-Netherlands-

did not bring respite;

Europe we bade goodbye

July 20, 1620.

In want and in need,

we endured sixty-six

days at sea,

with endurance, hope,

and faith,

we believed

tomorrow will be

glorious;

after sixty-six days of

harsh Atlantic voyage,

Mayflower anchored

at Cape Cod instead

Colony of Virginia.
