The Battle World May Not Win Very Soon:
Since last year, Coronavirus has taken world's center stage; in fact, nothing dominated entire 2020 other than Covid-19. From lockdown to house arrest; social distancing to 24-hour mask wearing; from self-isolation to quarantine; and from cities' shutdown to nation's close down. And from nations' surface to international shutoff, or perhaps, standstill.
Every human activity stopped; human civilization came under arrest; schools under lock and key; governmental activities suspended; social system dislocated; functions and duties of high and low ceased. All the thrones went on holidays; powerful world political seats in Washington D.C., London, Beijing, Paris, Berlin, Moscow, worked from background. Legislatures, parliaments, and congresses went on forced recess.
Temple of justices had no judges on judgement thrones; soldiers were pulled from battlefields; production, assembly lines and conveyor belts halted. Oceans closed lanes; airspace remained shut; banks worldwide locked the vaults; money creation through inter-bank transfers within nations and international borders stopped. Police and all crime-fighting institutions were inactive; all places of worship or "holy sites" deserted. Pope held no mass; imams led no jumat prayers again; friars, bishops, ayatollahs, and all religious ecclesiastical or structures, for the first time in history went on vacation. No synods of either western or eastern churches, all Holy Synod hibernated.
Yes, everything; yes, human civilization went into coma. In fact, it appears 2020 did not exist. And just in the middle of this crisis, the powerful and the weak died; in the middle of this trouble, world already in trouble suffered a stampede.
What a calamity; the world groaned and no one to pacify her; the world wept, no one to appease her, because everyone whined.
But just as Coronavirus took the control, mankind hope-year 2021-will turn the tide for the better; as assurances from scientists and medical professionals-that cure will be found for Coronavirus. Thanks to science, at least, three brands of Covid-19 vaccines are in the market. The Prifer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson's Janssen; and with political will, America has vaccinated half of its over 300 million citizens, as other nations struggle to do the same.
Unfortunately, Coronavirus is making a strong come back by means of new variants. The main virus is SARS-CoV-2, which causes Covid-19, now new variants of viruses are in town from the original SARS through mutations. Mutation is when a virus replicates or makes itself with some changes or appearance; like a model or actor who disguise himself or herself to look different. And the problem with mutation is, current vaccines may not be strong enough to stop growth and development with consequential impact on human health.
As the development going on, a nation like India already has her hands full. India has surpassed 20 million Coronavirus cases; witnessing a second wave of attack with over 200 thousand dead. India isn't the only with this problem; United Kingdom and some eleven nations, including United States have some five new variants of Covid-19 viruses, which Center for Diseases Control classified as: Variant of Concern (VOC); Variant of Interest (VOI); Variant of High Consequences (VOHC).
At least, five of these variants already known: B.1.1.7; B.1. 351; P.1; B.1.427; B.1.429.
Same development from Health Harvard in a published work, many variants are out there with serious threat to vaccines on ground.
https://www.health.harvard.edu/.../coronavirus-resource... All three variants share a, Cov-2 variants.
If Coronavirus is staging a come back with already damaged economy in many lands couple with high cost of living, will human survive the trouble?
Today, there are crises all over the world, from economic crisis to political unrest; from social dislocation, mostly caused by struggle for scarce resources. Events and development around the globe are not cheerful; worse still, world leaders are not leading anymore, other than playing party and national politics.
More and more nations are going into economic recession, as expenditure far outweigh income. Many more nations are choked by financial burden packaged by bi-and-multilateral institutions from western nations; and very unfortunate, many of these nations in sub-Saharan Africa are now victims of natural disasters from climate change.
Yes, many nations that could barely breathe before 2020 Coronavirus debacle at present in coma, and any chance for survival is very slim.
Where are we heading to? Will mankind survive the onslaught from Coronavirus and other troubles?
Only the time shall tell.
