Afromerope: The New Northern Migration from the South.

Migration: The Risks and the Truth

They leave home in millions

for different reasons,

but travel toward same

direction all year round.

They leave home in groups

crossing seas in dinghy boats

at the mercy of sea pirates;

traveling through non-navigable

rivers,

outcome no one can tell.

In droves they leave

lands they once lived

entire life to unknown lands,

in search of a greener pasture,

where cultures, languages,

social, and political systems

make them look un-welcome.

In tears and sorrow they leave

behind loved ones at homes,

undertake deadly desert crossing

with little chance of survival or

reaching their destinations

upward north.

In danger on highway from

robbers and marauders,

terrorists, and religious

extremists,

they travel through-

Sun dunes of Sahara Desert.

In large number,

they run away

from home-

anytime there is political

upheaval,

when religious extremism

replaces religious freedom,

lives and properties destroyed.

In myriad they leave homes

once violence overshadow

law and order,

vandalism becomes a way of life,

savagery becomes a tool to

settle scores

just as humans turn refugees

in their homelands.

En masse they go toward

same direction,

anytime environment

becomes unfriendly or hostile;

in scads they escape,

anytime economy fails or

crumbles, jobs lost, and

basic life necessities become

rare or unavailable.

 The Sad Realities of 

Immigrants in 

Western Hemisphere

Sadly, viable, productive,

and biologically strong groups

that are very critical to national

development,

southern nations lose yearly

to migration of her own to

western hemisphere.

Rather than finding

immediate relief,

north-bound immigrants

have to start life afresh;

instead of being

immediate blessing to

receiver nations,

professionals from south

are under-utilized,

jobs citizens will not do

they do.

 Under-employment

low-paying jobs with

little or no economic and

social values,

immigrants are compelled

to do.

What a pity!

Different stories, diverse travails  

pangs, and pains-you hear

from immigrants as they

contend with social barriers;

battle with harsh economic

conditions,

struggle with new culture and

political systems different to

what they know.

Migration! Migration! Migration!

When shall mass movement

be over?

Now or later?

Destabilization agents for migration-

war, climate change, poverty, political,

economic, and religious fanaticism-

when will you be gone?

Inasmuch as destabilization

agents are untamed,

insofar as north refuses

to let south go its way,

to the degree that south

refuses to thrive,

but remains a crawling and

stunted baby.

Migration through various

visa diversity programs and

back way doors will be

heartened,

emigrants will be on the rise,

immigrants the modern-day

cheap labor source will be

encouraged,

north will continue to benefit

from south’s misfortune and

adversity.
